I am working on a 69 Firebird that will start and run, but when i release it back to the run position after starting it up, it will die. The original small wire that someone hooked to the HEI is a black wire with yellow stripe. I assume this is a factory resistance wire that used to go to the coil. Issue is, i believe the resistance wire is bad. Questions are, since it is a stock GM HEI unit, how many volts does it need to have in the run position to stay running? How can i wire this thing to bypass the factory wire?
