I just bought a 1970 catalina convertible and the fuel gauge goes to 3/4 full. I worked under the dash today and managed to get it to peg out past full. Then I moved the printed circuit around and got it to read about 7/8 with the car off. When I was moving wires around I noticed I got the lighter to work and the gauge was not working. Now the lighter doesn't work and the gauge only responds with the car off and the ignition on. The ground and the wiring is good at the tank.
I bought a 1971 oldsmobile delta 88 convertible from a different location and different owner and it was sticking at 3/4 too. I just fried that one the other day with the convertible top wiring. That is another adventure.
Looking where to go next with the Cat.
