I have a 1970 pontiac lemans sport I recently bought the locks don't work I'm going to order a new set soon I took the panel off and the locking rod is missing and locking pawl as we'll do I need the locking rod to be able to turn the key and lock the car? I flipped the lever on the door latch and the I disengaged the button from opening the door but what triggers that to flip to the lock position is it the lock pawl? Does turning the key with a locking pawl flip that lever down? I'm trying to find the cheapest root to get this thing to lock as the locking rod that you put the knob on is no where to be found. The guy before me started installing power locks as we'll all that is in there is the motors for it but I'm not worried about automatic locks right now I just want the manual ones to work please help and send pics if you have of the locking mechanism or maybe a diagram and parts list of things I will need thanks in advanced
