My husband and I have came across a 1970 trans Am. It is the blue with white center stripe. There is surface rust. All of the numbers match, and it comes with the original motor also a different motor. I don't know much about this stuff, the body is good except for there was some bondo work on the rear quarter panels around the tires, it looks like to flare them out. What would be a fair price for this. Also, would this be a good investment. My husband loves this Car. but how much is to much??
Please help
A wife who wants to be a good wife

Well, if it's numbers matching and in fair shape it would be worth a bundle. It is hard to say how much without actually looking the car over. But, I wouldn't pay more than 15,000 for it. But, some of those cars are going for 25-35 in perfect shape. So I would call it a good investment.

If the interior is blue and the motor is a 455 then that car could end up being worth alot more than $30,000. I am not sure of the production numbers on the 70 TA but I do know that there were not many made in these color options. If the car needs a crap load of work then I would not pay more than $15,000 because you can easily end up putting another $20,000 into it. A car like this is more than just a car to a man and it will help keep him in the garage at home. Good luck at whatever you decide and you are already a good wife for even considering it.
