1972 seatbelt Questions

I am interested in knowing more about the different seat belts used on the 70-73 birds. First of all is 72 one year only? these are retractable lap belts with shoulder belts that clip into the lap belt before the buckle is engaged. Were there different shoulder belt retainers used during this year? Mine are Long plastic retainers (part # 9605819 rev 5) on metal headliner moldings but i have seen plastic moldings with clear plastic clips and the 70 i have has two separate seat belts with chrome clips and i believe the 73's used a retractable 3 point system with a belt retainer on the seat. is all this correct?

I believe your description of the 72 belt is an aftermarket belt. Looking at the 72 brochure pictures and description on the last page there were two belts to the inside of the front seats. On the outside you had the shoulder belt attached to the roof and the lap belt next to the seat.

The 71 appears to be the same as the 72.

They are original and I have verified with Year One who also have a 72 T/A that this is a one year only setup.
