Recently found a 77 Lemans everything about the car except for engine, lack of ducktail spoiler and, window body style tells me can-am even though I know it is not a can-am but it has the bucket seats the RTS and the grand prix dash. I was wondering if any one know the exact type is it a Grand Lemans or if it is a Lemans GT sport coupe. It has a 301 and I beleive it has the Turbo 200 trans in it. Great car I just am baffled on what exactly it is.

there is a grand lemans with a can am package but I would guess you may have to go to a vin site to determine more precisely what you have

A Can Am would have had a 400 or 403 CID engine with a TH400 or TH350 respectively. Does it have the louvered windows or the 'opera' windows? All CAs came with louvers.

Chances are it's a Grand LeMans, though the engine is something you'd expect to find in a base LeMans. Someone could've ordered it that way, though. Best bet is to locate a build sheet, if one's still in or on the car. Look in the trunk, under the seats, behind the seat backs, above the gas tank...those are the most common places. It could be anywhere though, and sometimes they're not there at all. My CA didn't come with one.
