1978 trans am

Hi i am looking at a 1978 trans am that is for sale but it has a 1979 bumper and tail lights is this something that the factory did late in the year or is it something that someone did..any info would be great thanks...

It is somthing that someone did, I had a 1978 and it had NO 79 parts. ( till I hit a dog on the highway !)
