Engine starts up just fine. I can run about a mile or so and it just dies out. There is no hesitation or back firing it just dies, like if you turned the key off. I Believe it is an electrical problem, just don't know where to look first.

why do you believe it is an electrical problem, have you checked for spark at the plugs when it dies?
if you have no spark and it has an HEI distributor the module in the distributor is a common failing part
