Hello everyone, I am new to this site and am full of question!

First off, My dad and I own a 1980 Firebird Esprit with the non-turbo 301 olds and are wanting this 1972 pontiac 400 in. Making it fit is not the trouble. The trouble is...

Will the 400 fit with the stock 3 speed auto?

Will the mounts need to be changed?

If mounts need to be changed, what type will we need and any suggestions on good brands.

*(We will be rebuilding the 400 which was from a 1972 Parisienne/Laurentian)

Buick, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac, BOP, share the same transmission mounting pattern. The mounts probably have to be changed and possibly the brackets. Look at what is available at www.amesperf.com

So what type will I need it to fit. A 1972 mount to fit a 1980 bracket? Is there anything like this for a conversion kit? I didnt manage to find much on there.

If you look at page 179 of the Ames Firebird catalog it appears they have what you need, FN621B. If still unclear, I advise you call them, they will be happy to help you.
