1981 PONTIAC TRANS AM SE Y84 CAR! ALL ORIGINAL SHEET METAL, STRAIGHT, TOTALLY SOLID, & TURN KEY! ZERO RUST! LOADED WITH CRUISE CONTROL, POWER STEERING, POWER DISC BRAKES, T-TOPS, AND COLD AC! BELIEVED TO BE AN ORIGINAL 86K MILE CAR!
This Trans Am is extremely clean and straight. It completed a ground up restoration just under two years ago. It is all original & turn key. It is a very nice, well optioned, rust free car that you can enjoy cruising with out any hassles.
Body: The body on this Trans Am is completely solid. Based on our inspection, we have found zero rust anywhere through out the car. All of the sheet metal, from what we have assessed, appears to be original. It is extremely straight and again, has absolutely no rust anywhere. The paint on the Trans Am was done professionally and shines out beautifully. It does not have any streaks, orange peel, nor any major blemishes through out it. It is the factory correct color per the Cowl Tag. All of the glass through out the Trans Am is in good shape. The T-Tops are original and as you can see, they are in excellent shape. They also DO NOT LEAK! How is that for a rarity? The inner structure of the roof where your T-Tops sit is completely solid & original. Just that area alone can tell you quite a bit about how well this Trans Am has been cared for. There are a few items that I am taking care of during the course of this auction. One being the decals for the shaker bubble and the surrounding bracket. They are here and I will have them put on before the end of the auction. The second is the rear decal. It was placed in the incorrect spot. I have purchased a new decal which will be put in the center of the trunk lid and the old one will be removed properly. The third thing is the surrounding rubber molding for the rear spoiler. I have it and it too will be installed before the end of the auction. Lastly, I do have the dual headed exhaust tips and those too will be installed prior to the auction ending.
Engine & Mechanical: This Trans Am does appear to retain its original 301 which is in excellent mechanical condition. It does not smoke, leak, or make any odd noises. The Trans Am also has its original transmission which also is in excellent working order. It shifts out smoothly with absolutely no problems. Both the motor, transmission, brake booster, and power steering setup do not leak. If you come out and have a look at it, you'll see where it has been sitting and it has not dropped a single bit of fluid anywhere within our garage. You also will not find any debris or remnants of fluid along the bottom side of the Trans Am. The power steering setup within this Trans Am is in excellent working order. It does not squeal, shake, or pull. The Trans Am does have power disc brakes on the front and drums on the rear. All of which are in excellent working order. It does not shake, shimmy, screech or pull when braking. The AC setup has been converted and does blow cold.
Interior: The interior as you will see is mostly all new. The seats both front and back are in excellent condition. The door panels are in great shape as is the center console & headliner. The dash pad as you will see within the photos does have a crack within the center of it but I have since replaced it with a brand new one. If need be, I will gladly take photos of it and send it too anyone who is interested. The photos as well as video within this auction were taken approximately two weeks ago (around June 25th 2012). Electrically everything is in good working order with the exception of the horn. The turn signals, head lights, tail lights, dash lights, tachometer, speedometer, the radio, everything is in good working order.
These Trans Ams continue to rise in value and will always be sought after. I can tell you with confidence that just to have one this straight with this nice of paint, it would cost you well beyond what we are asking. We are located in Kansas City, Mo. and I am asking 15k or best offer. I do have many photos of the TA as well as video which you're welcome to view here:
