Just bought this fiero had it looked over, spark plugs looked good, distributer. New air filter. idle smooth... no issues beside one head light will not raise the normal issue with fiero i hear... Short drives no problem when on a 20 min drive it started stalling, Rpm's drop and it stalls.. Starts right up no problem go to put it in drive it stalls anyone have any suggestions!!! I found if i keep my foot on the gas and brake i can keep it running if that gives any insight!?

It could be the throttle body has an IAC valve, idle air control, and it has to be cleaned of carbon deposits.

Or vacumn leak or bad EGR valve...............

All Fieros came with a TH125C automatic trans, which has a solenoid that locks the convertor up at about 48 miles an hour . It gets old and doesnt unlock the convertor when you come to a stop so the car will stall like a standard shift car if you didnt push in the clutch pedal.

There is a blue 4 prong plug on the radiator side of the trans , unplug it and it will solve the problem.

You will need to get the solenoid changed if you drive on the highway alot , otherwise city driving only up to 48 MPH till then.

Its called the TCC.
