86parisienne

Hello, I drive a 1986 pontiac parisienne with a 305 chevy v8. recently I have been having troubles accelerating. When I accelerate, my car shutters alot and doesnt have very much power, and when I floor it the car almost stalls. I thought it might be the fuel pump so I replaced it and it didnt make a difference. Could this be a bad spark plug or would it be a problem with the choke?? Im really confused, I have tried a few different things and now I am out of ideas. PLEASE HELP ME!!

My son had a similar problem with his 1986 Parisienne (now mine by default since he got a new car). He ended up giving the car a complete tuneup (plugs, rotor, wires, distributor cap, etc.), which made a huge difference. The car runs and accelerates very well now. The only problem now is that the car still has some carb problems, so after it runs for awhile, the float gets stuck. Luckily it is now in the category of project rather than daily driver.
