1986 pontiac fiero SE V6 cold start first time in like 6 years

i am 14 and i got a 1986 pontiac fiero SE and i have been working on it and the owner of it said that it had a rod knock but it dose not sound like it let me know and it ran for like 12 seconds so if you can tell if it dose then let me know but i am going to do a engine swap with a bigger one. and the fiero is my dream car and i was wanting a project car so i thought y not my dream car and then when i can drive i can say that i rebuilt that engine and bought it and it is my dram car so how many people do u know that they restored there dream car at 14 and it was there first car not many or not all can say that but i will get to say that and i will be proud and i am working for each and every part for this car so let me know what you think .

Before starting the car for the first time in 6 years, did you change all the fluids and filters and drain the old gasoline?
Did you check if a particular cylinder is knocking by pulling one distributor cap cylinder wire at a time to see if the noise went away?
Do you know what oil pressure you are getting?
