Hi there,
I just joined because by boyfriend recently bought an 1987 Fiero with a 2.5. Since I'm the one that works on it I figured this would be the best place to start.
The other day the oil light came on and it started to knock, so we parked it and haven't started it since. The oil is a little low, and I'm not sure whether he broke a rod or since if it started knocking because it got too hot.
The temperature didn't shoot up, and I'm just wondering what all could have happened.
I've been wondering if the oil pump went out and that would cause it to loose oil pressure, or if he may have blown up the engine and we have to rebuild it.
Any help would be great.
Thanks so much, Heather.
