1988 sunbird hood release cable broke

How do i get the hood open-no access from underneath-please help-thanks!

you had the car up on a lift and cannt reach the latch mechanism?

Mine is hooked up at the front headlight with a wire after the cable broke, was that way it was when I got the car . ( thanks for reminding me I need one from the junkyard to take back to Puerto Rico when I move)

Depending what broke , ( cable? or inside handle?) determines how to open it.

You should be able to use a large screwdriver through the grill. Put it in the slot and turn it.
