...performance? Got a trans am GTA 1989 350 5.7. 240 horses is not bad. Would like to take that up a bit. What good to put in this car?

Headers,a good flowing exhaust, and a cold air intake is a good place to start. Subframe connectors are a good idea if you are adding more power.

Bud, this is one of my favorite cars, Ive owned 2 myslef, an 89 and a 91 GTA... First thing I do is get a chip, from hyperteck... then every other mod you do works that much better because you can program it as well into the chip... as ziggxp has said, those mods are well worth the money, but with this car as well, the O2 sensiors in the exhaust, are in front of the cats, so you can free up 30 horse just by cutting out the cats. Do that when you put on your exhaust and you will see and feel the difference. I promise you it works awsome!!! get a throtle body spacer as well, just a 3'4 or 1 inch spacer, you will still be able to close the hood with no problems, and car will respond better off the line and midrange when downshifting to pass... take out that plastic restrictive air box from the nose, take out the pipe as well and get an ovel shaped K&N filter and put it right on the throtle body... No restriction what so ever. Plust these cars have good airflow so you dont need to worry about sucking in hot air. Go to your auto parts store, K&N makes this filter just for the TPI motor. It will fit perfectly on the TB. I found tht boshe platnim 4 spark plugs to work well with this car. Not only did I get more power (about 4 HP ) but I also got better MPG. A B&M or HURST shift kit works wonders on that auto. And yes, get the fraim stiffiners if you do this. On my 89, I did it after, and I had to get my frame straightened. Not the strongest frames on these cars. Also, depending on your budget, for around 1100 bucks.( and YES its worth it ) you can get a T-BONE throttle body from SLP... they put it on the firehawks and left the rest of the motor stock and it made over 310 HP... The TPI looks great, but is not the best intake... good luck and let us know how it went for you....
