1990 Firebird speedometer

I am new to the forum and a new Firebird owner. I recently purchased a 1990 Firebird Formula and the speedometer does not work, the exhaust is banging around under the car, and the transmission mount feels nonexistant.

My question is if I fix the transmission mount, exhaust mounting problem and the transmission speed sensor. Can I expect the speedometer to work?

I would not think those problems would be related. I think they were still using speedo cables back then so i'd look to that as the possible problem.

Did a quick google, and if it is the cable i think this is what'd you need, but i'd check yours before i bought one

Looks to me that there are no cable in a 1990 or newer. I have a 1991 TPI with no cable.

It should be electronic. Check the wiring to the vss. Something may have been knocked loose/ or shorted.
