1992 Pontiac FIREBIRD v6 3.1? MY A/C UNIT IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY?

IN the console were you turn on the a/c and u put LOW TO HGH SI NOT WORKING,, any way nomatter if u put LOW MEDIUM OR HIGH ,,IT ALWAYS THROWS IT HIGH.and it dosent blow low or med. just HIGH.. CAN SOMEBODY HELP ME FIGURE OUT WATS IS THE PROBLEM
 
Yes, a resistor is needed. Yours is broken. It is a card shaped circuit beside the blower motor, attached by 2 screws, slides out, cost around $40.
 
Confused - is the A/C not cooling, or is the fan just stuck on high all the time?

If not cooling - most likely low on freon - IIRC, you still have R12 which is getting very expensive. While just topping the system off may be cheaper than a retrofit to R134 - suggest that if you have a major leak or other significant work is required - it would be worth considering the conversion at that point.

If the fan is stuck on high - then agree with RubenV - resistor has failed so that the fan motor is receiving full voltage at all speeds.
