...fuses, why? One of my dash fuses, specifically one (20 fuse) that runs my power doors, interior light, and horn keeps blowing. It does this for almost no reason at all. I just had the eletrical in my car worked on, they didn't find anything wrong with that persay, but it didn't have the problem then like it does now. My car burned through an old battery, so I replaced it, but it kept draining. I took it in and it was a ground, so I had the battery prongs and the ground repaired. Then it still was draining. They looked at it and found out it was a "mercury switch" in my trunk. They repaired it and the car runs fine, except for the 20 fuse problem!!! I've gone through 4 20 fuses in 2 months, what the heck is going on?? If I honk my horn more than 5 times it blows. If I use my interior light and then turn it off, it blows. If I leave the car alone and come back to it, I find it blown. I don't understand??? Anyone have a clue???

To check for shorts:1.Disconnect the ground from battery.2Hook a test light, one end to the negative battery terminal and the other end to a good ground.3.Key off.4.Pull one fuse at a time till the test light goes out.5.You have just found the circuit with the short in it that drains your battery. If it is only one paticular fuse that keeps blowing it should be easy to isolate. You could have a shorted door lock solenoid.

Is it possible they could have shorted a wire out when repairing your vehicle?
