1992 Sunbird Engine Hood Latch Cable

I was wondering if anyone knows of a parts source that would have an engine hood latch cable? I have tried 2 different sources, one was a dealership that had a cable mislabeled, but got same wrong cable. The handle is attached to the cable and does not pivot from mounting point, it pulls straight out to activate the latch. Thanks

Thanks so much for the quick responses. The first cable that you showed looks completely different than the one that is on the car. According to all the Pontiac information OEM is no longer available. The second one shown looks like the two that I have gotten already. One came from a dealership with correct part number but wrong cable and the other was aftermarket but incorrect. That cable has a pivot base that bolts to side panel for support but the one on the car does not pivot but pull straight towards back of car, sliding in the cable outer housing. It is amazing how everyone says they have parts for this car but nothing seems to fit. I have 3 drivers side mirrors that I purchased for this car all the same but won't fit. What is the deal?

Go to a Pick and Pull junkyard and get everything you need.

Cavalier stuff fits also.

Mine looks exactly like the one I posted, got another off a junkyard car.

Maybe it isn't the correct one in there now ( T handle one) and was replaced at one time, most of the ones I've seen look the same also.

I believe it is original. I was the second owner when I bought the car in 2002. The owner had all service records and paperwork when I bought it.

Yes that looks more like the handle and mounting system that is in the car I have. I see the note about a Camaro, is that something that will fit my car?

I cant tell you if it will or not, I'd email the seller(s) for the length and measure yours to confirm.

I have tried to search for the cable in the rock auto parts catalog for the Camaro you listed but can't find it. Is there somewhere else I should look?
