Hi Doug, perfect. My Karate Instructor who is also a mechanic, took it for a drive and he seems to thing the lose of power and popping sound might be the ignition coils/windings!

Could be crossed spark plug wires , wrong gap on plugs , timing belt slipped or bad cam also.......................

The coil module is expensive...........................

Just a small note. When I put my foot down on the gas I notice the air from the vents gets warmer, and when I let off the gas I hear a small click inside the car under the dash and the heat reduces. It seems like a relay or something.

Hi all. Thanks sooo much for all your help. I just got a call from the garage and the engine is destroyed :-(
Ah well, it has now become a parts car for my beloved 1989 Sunbird which is in showroom condition. I am just upset to drive "SUNNY" in the bad weather!

Hi probably could find another motor, but I work from home and hardly drive my cars, so on bad days I will take my wife's Volvo

I have a 92 2.0 and every time I floor it, it blows the

I have a 92 2.0 and every time I floor it it blows the ECM fuse. today I put a new ECM in and it still blows the fuse.

check the throttle linkage to see if you are causing a short somewhere including the throttle position sensor
