Brakelights won't light up when running/taillights are illuminated but the third brakelight does come on

They have dual filament bulbs, did you check if they are burnt out? Did you check the sockets for corrosion?

Yes the bulbs are fine and the sockets were corroded so i installed new ones but no luck

Use a voltmeter to check if you have power at both bulb contacts with lights on and brake applied. If you do have power check the ground connections from the sockets for corrosion.

had the same exact problem with mine. turned out to be a bad ground.
