You should get a shift kit from Ebay and install it while the replacement trans is out ( just look up TH125C shift kit on Ebay) It takes care of the sloppy shifts this tranny has so it lasts longer.
Get a used Haynes or Chilton manual off Ebay if you need more info.
Thanks, I was doing fine until I tried to unbolt the flywheel. Some welded the head of the bolts to the flywheel. Going to harbor freight for an air chisel tomorrow. Question? why mark the flywheel?
Just picked up a 94 trans with convertor today to take with to P.R. Very clean with 81K miles on it from a Tucson yard. They saved me a trip and brought to a Phoenix yard in the AZ recycler network.
Did notice it has no dipstick like the 92 one in the car. No fill cap either as Autozone decribes in their maintence section, just a small pipe plug I can see.
I guess you get the car up in the air, and level and pull a 11 mm plug on the underneath right side end of the trans to check the fluid level like a rear axle. ( what was GM thinking )
Relief ! I found the dipstick hole after all , so all's good Was more conserned it was the proper trans ( looked up the factory code tags on the JBody site) and I missed it. No way I can return it after I leave , so you can't be too carefull !
