My girlfriends '96 Grandam needed a new radiator, and her mechanic said to save some money, and try it to do it myself as it was said to be pretty easy to install. I am not a car guy per say, but tend to be more on the techy side. Even though I had purchased a new radiator not "oem", But was said to fit the car and company was rated good with the "BBB" so I order it without hesitation.
It had gotten here and first thing I did was to take out the new radiator I had gotten, and par those fittings on it with the one's on the current broken radiator, everything appeared to be consistent in position and size, so I started to yank the old one out.
The new one fit nice at first, then found out when hooking up the lines the three threaded input connections do not fit, the ones on the radiator ( below is similar Similar to connections that wont fit correctly on mine, had no camera sorry)
the lines that are male ended and screw into the radiator, the line male connection is to big, as the connection on the radiator appears to be too small for the lines.
My Question-- Can you use any male to female adapter,
and or do I have to get one the specifically takes flare ended connections?..
And now I am ordering a gauge reader cause I live far from a local auto part store, so is their general sizes for these lines? Maybe someone can shine some light on this situation..
Thanks, Will
