1996 Pontiac Sunfire Downstream o2 Sensor

My check engine light came on a while back for my downstream o2 sensor but after a while it went away and hasn't come back since. But I was wondering, could a bad downstream o2 sensor be causing the car to have poor acceleration?

No, the downstream just monitors the converter performance.
