I have a 96 sunfire 2.2 auto with 150k. I was running until a few days ago. It was running poorly however, it had a bad misfire and would be hard to start some times and stall occassionally other times. Now it won't start at all. It will turn over for a few seconds and then sputter out usually bucking the motor pretty hard. I have already replaced plugs, wires, fuel filter, map sensor, fuel pressure regulator. All for no difference. Fuel pump kicks on audibly and it appears to be working cause when i replaced the pressure regulator there was plenty of fuel that shot out. I pulled the plugs they all seem to be firing good. i'm tired of replacing parts that don't need it on a 1000 dollar car. Any help would be appriciated?

I have a similar problem that I still haven't resloved yet, but it sounds like you had a power interuption. These Pontaics have a real bad security theft problem . The system is wired on to just about every relay and sensor on the car. Power interuption also means diconnecting the battrie. The theft system will shout down the fuel relay and ingntioin relay. there is sort of a reset process see other blogs on this forum on how to proceed.
