...then it turns over? i dont no if its a igniton problem or i have to hold somthing to engage it but after playing with it .it turns over with no problem allmost reminds me of a safety thing any ideas?

1997 firebird starting i turn the key nothing happends i do it about 10 times...

buy a new starter that is definitely the problem, if nothing happens then for the first few tries then it catches and turns over like you said, then its definitely the starter.

More and likely a bad solenoid in the starter, and needs to be replaced.
