mileage all of a sudden? Hey everyone, I have a 1997 Pontiac Grand AM (3.1L V6) and recently, out of nowhere it started getting really bad mileage, and started idling rough and sputtering, sometimes to the point where it would shut off. When I say bad mileage, I mean that I drove it to school in the morning and it was 3/4 full, and then I went to lunch with friends, then movies after school, and when I got back home, the tank was 1/4 full!
I've been told to replace the O2 sensors, and I wanna be sure that this will fix it because the sensors are way expensive.
I tuned it up a couple of months ago, the filter's clean and everything. There are no other drive ability symptoms.
I am a car guy so don't hold back. What do you guys think?
Thanks,
Koolguy
Oh yeah, there's no Check engine light, and the car has 107,000 KM's on it.
