1997 Sunfire airbag light

My buddy changed the clock spring in the steering column because my horn quit working. Now the horn works fine, but the airbag light stays on. He took the steering column apart again and tested the airbag circuit. Even though the airbag light stays on, he said that the airbag circuit is working. Can the airbag circuit still function if the light stays on? Thanks...

no, if the lights on the systems out. Air bag is most likely incorrectly connected, or the clock spring is no good

have u checked the fuse. he might of shorted it out somehow
