1998 Firebird Odometer/Trip Odometer Now Working

I have a 1998 Firebird. The odometer and trip odometer light up, but when I turn on the parking lights or headlights, the odometers go dark. Both are digital (red). Also, I reset (or thought I did) the trip odometer, and when I drove 90 miles, it only shows 29 miles.

Any ideas?

a guess would be a bad ground in the dash circuit board
