1998 Pontiac Sunfire. No airflow from vents with fan control. Can feel a slight bit of heat trickling out of the vent, but fan seems to not be functioning. Two questions: what can I do to check myself (fuses, etc) to see what the problem is, and how much would it cost to repair if it's something major like a broken blower fan?

To check blower fan, connect a wire to the positive battery cable and unplug the wire that leads to your blower fan. Then connect the wire from the battery to the lead on the blower fan that you just unplugged. If the fan begins to run, check the fuse labled 'blower fan'. If it is bad, replace it and the blower fan should function Or you can check your fuses first if you do not want to do the first step. Hope this helps. If it turns out to be a bad blower motor, that will cost around $30.00 +
