my sunfire has a loud tick/knock has a 2.4l engine with 200k on it. it gets louder as the rpms go up as soon as i start it its knocking right away. also noticed a ruff idle at times aswell and a couple stalls on me. no engine lights or anything on it what u guys think lifter? timing chain? rod bearing? its way to cold here in ontario and lots snow so i cant really work on it for for few weeks just wondering what u guys think. it sounds to me its coming from the top of the engine. once its wormer out i can drop the pan and check the rod bearings but for now i cant do to much. thanks in advance kevin. here a vid of it running https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqO7kocMl80 note its louder in person

i hope so then its fixable. it does sound like its coming from that area. just hoping its not the rod bearing. even tho i got the car for free cause of the noise lol its in really good shape but if its the bearing id prob just scrap the car.

Do not continue to drive the car, if the chain fails the engine may become toast.
