1998 Sunfire problem

So I searched the forum and found a few problem that were sorta like mine but not exactly. I know alot of people are having problems with having to hold the switch of their headlights to make them work but that not what I have to do. My automatic lights work fine but when i actually use the switch to turn the light on my passenger light turns on correctly but my driverside is very dim and when I turn my brights on again my passenger side gets very bright and my driverside gets even dimmer and will sometimes turn off. Any ideas? Would that be the multifunction switch?

Sounds like a ground wire for headlights came off.

Where is the ground located?

not sure on this car, but it should go from the light to the body.

Could be the multifunction switch also, they have a habit of causing that type of issue..
but the ground is also a problem area with those cars the ground is in the area near the headlamps on either side just follow the wireharness back to the frame section near the headlamps on both sides ..
