1999 Firebird headlight socket keeps burning up

Have a '99 Firebird V6

Just replaced the passenger side low beam connector Jun '15.. worked great..

Now that light doesn't stay on.. will "flash" briefly when I turn on the lights, then fade out (I parked in front of a store window one night to check).

Connector felt "loose" when I looked at it, then put it back on the prongs as far as it will go. Still same problem. Voltimeter checks out.. headlight is getting pretty much same juice as driver's side.. even the mechanics can't figure out why it's not working..

Any thoughts?

trace the ground connection, either loose or corroded

No, used one from AutoZone.. I didnt think they still made parts for Firebirds?

Probably a standard socket.
