My check engine light doesn't work. When we took out the dash cluster, we found that the light is LED and is soldered to the board. How do we fix this? We have to pass inspection and this is stopping us.

It's not finding a light bulb I'm really worried about. I need to know how to remove the light bulb to replace it.

You stated you took the cluster out and saw the LED was soldered. Unsolder it and replace it with a new one. Make sure the person who does the job is familiar with working on circuit boards.

Is there somewhere I can get the light that doesn't cost so much?

I used google to find it, so try searching further.

Is the check engine light of the car supposed to come on upon ignition? I've replaced the bulb but it's still the only light that doesn't come on.

when you first start the car and the key is in the run position all the dash warning lights come on to verify that they work
