1999 Pontiac Firebird ( V-6) Where is the fuel filter and how does it look?

Wouldn't start the whole week cause it seems like it wasn't getting gas, wel all of a sudden today out of the blue it starts up runs for a couple of mins then stalls out, I believe this is a fuel filter problem

Should be in the gas line in front of the tank. 3" around and 4-6 " long. Approx. Could be a fuel pump also. Have the fuel pressure checked.
