1999 Pontiac Grand Am GT Transmission Fluid Change?

Any one know how to change the transmission fluid in a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am GT 2dr. Coupe. Went to the dealer and said that the car has to remain running while they change the transmission fluid. Is this so. How can you change it themselves.

The fluid level has to be checked with the engine running. You cannt change the fluid with the engine running. You have to drop the transmission pan to change the fluid and screen if it has one.
