I have a 2000 Pontiac Firebird. I don't know if it's the clutch or that slave cylinder that is going out... I checked the fluid and it showed it was pretty full... Not completely, but I could see fluid so i'm assuming it doesn't have a leak anywhere... My clutch is really loose and when you press in on the clutch you can't hold it down longer than about 3 seconds or the gears get stuck and you have to kill the car or else you can't switch gears and sometimes the clutch thinks it's still engaged and takes off on you in first gear if you hold it too long. After this, I have to pump the clutch 3 times to air it up. Everyone is telling me it's the slave cylinder but some people are saying it's the clutch and needs bled, some say it's a master cylinder leak? Anyone have any ideas? Please help. I don't have the money to take it to a real mechanic to get it checked out! I have $200 to work with!

You have to get under the car and check for a leak in the line from the master to the slave. If nothing is leaking than I would replace both of them or you can gamble, replace one if that doesnt cure the problem replace the other.
