2000 grand am 2.4l puffs air from oil cap

While adding oil to my 2000 grand Am I noticed air puffs coming from the oil cap hole. Is this normal? please help.

so you are adding oil with the engine running? could be mild blowby, have you ever changed the PCV valve?

Yes. I oil while the car was running. I've never noticed the puffing before. From what I understand this car does not have a pvc valve but has a oil/air ventilation box located under the intake box.

You are correct only the V6 has the PCV. How many miles on the car?

at that mileage it could be blowby but unless you are having a problem wouldnt bother. If you want you can do a compression test.
