I've recently acquired a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am SE (2.4L Twin Cam). I've been searching all over and can't find any information on replacing center console power window switches or even where to get replacements. I'm not sure if this was just a rare option for this car, or if somebody did some fancy aftermarket work to do this.

I haven't got any pictures, but could get some if somebody would like to see what I'm talking about. I've replaced or worked on just about every part of a car imaginable, so I'm no stranger to fixing cars.

Does anybody have an idea where to get replacement parts for the switches? Or how to properly disassemble the center console to access these?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Pics would help. I have never heard of a Grand Am having the window switches in the center console.

I'll post some pics when I get home from work, but after searching a little more, I found this http://www.a1electric.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=AEOS&Product_Code=4990-50-227 . This obviously isn't the same kit, but the button styles are exactly the same. Also in the related parts, it shows crank caps for window cranks, which my car also has over the parts where the cranks used to be. I was also curious as to why there was a fused link coming from the terminal on the fuse block. This all points to an aftermarket job. I'm wondering if the center console was part of it, because it looks like it came from the factory that way.

I almost wouldn't mind just returning the doors to their original state of manual windows, because these switches don't work very well. If I can find replacements, that would work too.
