2000 Grand Am Died when I accelerated

I have had on and off problems with my Grand Am and the "security" light. Most of the time I can get it started and it starts fine. Other times, I got to start and the engine doesn't even crank and the security light blinks along with the oil and battery light on. I would wait 10 minutes and after that the light would stop blinking and you could start it and it would run fine. Today on my way back to work I noticed a little sputtering when I went to accelerate. As I got to a light, the engine just shut off with the security light flashing and the oil and battery light on. After about 10 minutes I got it started and the lights went off. After about 5 minutes, it happened again but without the lights. I can go out now and it starts fine. I have never had this happen while I was driving. Anyone know what's going on?

You can try another key if you have one otherwise it could be the ignition switch/key sensor assembly.
