I have scanned this car and found a couple codes for O2 sensors, and a couple for EVAP system. No big surprises there, but shouldn't I have a check engine light on for these? Currently not lit... WEIRD.
Second, I am wondering what normal idling RPM's are for this engine. I currently show 600-650 when temperature is reached. I'm thinking it should be 100 or so higher.
Any thoughts on these 2 circumstances? Thank you in adavance to all on here for this informative message board.

When you first start the car before turning to engage the starter does the check engine light come on with the other lights?
If the engine is running smoothly, I see nothing wrong with the idle RPM.

Yes. The chk engine light comes on along with all the others. I'm thinking that's a communication test of sorts for the systems And Yes, the engine runs smoothly

These codes are Not in history?
How long have you owned the car?

1 owner. Elderly lady. 74k on the odom. I'm rebuilding it. Daily drive n back forth to work 2 miles away. Almost complete except for chasing codes out for inspection. Lot of sensors replaced. Power restored from total over haul of fuel system. Car is in surprisingly good running order considering the full suspension/brakes bearings rebuild I put in. Just shy of 2k into her.

Try to respond as Clutch_Dance otherwise you are a guest and must wait approval.
Have you tried cleaning the codes?

Sorry. I responded from my phone which wasn't logged in. Yes I cleared them. The 2 codes"heater monitor" code and "low voltage" for O2 sensor came back after. Also 1 for "weak catalytic converter"
If I change the cat out for a new one, will it have an effect on the O2 sensor codes? It's just weird these codes exist without the check engine light being on.

Can you post the actual codes?
It is possible the codes aren't thrown often enough to turn the light on.

It's not possible. They're persistent. I can get screen shots of them once I can leave work.

That's the only reason I could find, might be time for a shop to look at it.

It could be but as far as the codes, what are they?

That looks like an easy fix

Start with the P0125/128 probably need a new 195 thermostat. See if other codes are effected.

I have the thermostat on the shelf. The wierd part is that I already changed those 02 sensors over week ago, and the codes say the same things they did before. Also the fact that 02 sensor codes AREN'T tripping an active chk eng light. They should by all rights
