I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am Gt 6 cyl that I wish to replace the serpentine belt and maybe one or more of the pulleys. I hear squeeking as the car is at idle, but don't hear it when the car is driving. The car has over 130,000 miles, and the last time the serpentine belt was replace was over 8 years ago.

I've notice near the engine pulleys that there is a motor mount that I will have to unbolt. I've read on other threads on how to remove the bolts and raise the engine slightly to remove and replace the belt. I don't have an engine hoist that I could use to raise the engine. Does anyone have a "suggested" method on now to do so? I'd assume I could put a 1x10 wood block under the oil pan and raise with a floor jack just enought to slide the belt off and replace, but I'm not sure if the pan can support the weight of the engine.
