I wanted to buy a used one under 100,000KM for about $5000. Are they a good car? Should I go for it?

if its in mint condition, you could probably go even a bit lower, like 4500

They are good cars but a few things to look at.

The Lower Intake manifold has a tendency to leak coolant...eith int othe oil or out of the engine. Look under the Throttle Body and around the lower intake plenum.

Transmission are sometimes a problem. (depends on how they were driven) Drive it and make sure the shifts feel okay.

Also the Window regulators and Wheel bearings are common parts that require replacing ever so often. Though at the miles you are getting it at these parts may already have been replaced once.

I have a 2004 Grand am GT and I love it. very little issues.

yeah they are great cars and stuff usually doesn't go bad that quickly. I am actually going to get one soon but i want the 2002. if you can find one that low of miles for 5000 then yeah its worth it but if it has many miles drop the price some
