The automatic sliding door will not open with the button or remote, but will close with both, does anyone have an idea as to where to start looking for the problem?

Suggest there should be some kind of 'close' relay that is common to both the remote and local inputs. Don't know where this is at.

try replacing the contacts on the door and the plate they touch. just go to a salvage yard and pull it off any montana, venture, or silhouette between 99-03. good luck
