Anyone else had this problem? We've had this van for 5 yrs, and have always had issues with it not latching, but now it won't even unlock! Not even manually. I looked up recalls, and called the company, but they said there are no open recalls on it. Not the whole van, just the power sliding door.

apply heat to dealer

there was a recall about doors that would slide open on hills...make them fix it...you have to be persistent.

On the sliding door pillar there are several square contact tabs. These must be cleaned as well as the contacts on the doors themselves. Try that and see if that works. When I bought my van I had the same issue and cleaned them. Haven`t had a problem since.

Got my sliding door to open!!

Hi,
I had the same problem but I managed to fix mine by:

1. Wiggle the door handle and lock lever the lock might come up. Mine did then i made the fately mistack of closing the door again so --
2. You will need to remove the door panel with the door shut. Its a real pain but it can be done
3. Remove the two blanking plates one top left one bottom right and remove the nuts.
4. Remove the door handle. This is a pain!! Pull the handle slightly and you will see a small springe 'c' clip. You will have to push it up with a small screw driver.
5. Gently pull the top of the door panel far enough so that you can manually pull the lock up.
6. The door will release. pull the door open.
7. Take the door panel off by prying the clips out, but this is hard on the fingers and some of them will probably break.
8. Remove the 3 nuts on the 4 tourqu screws for the egde of the mechanisum.
9 Pull the mechansium back as far as you can and blast it with some WD40.
10. Move the lock up and down, spray the acutators etc.
11. Put it all back together testing as you go.

It solved my problem but took some time. Hope it works for you!!

power sliding door not closing

Hello everybody, I'm new in this forum and I have a similar problem, my power sliding door lock is not opening even using the key or whit the actuators, the problem first start when the door refuses to close even using the power assistence or manually, so what I found is when the door is fully open I push once or two times the inside door handle all the way down and then the door closes whit no problem, but, now the door lock sometimes is unable to open or close, I'm going to remove the door panel to see if I can found out the problem, any siggestions?.

definitely try cleaning the contacts on the door and door jamb with a pencil eraser. I think the door has spring loaded pins. These sometimes get dirty and do not make good contact.Good luck keep us posted.
