2000 sunfire high beams

My low beams work but when I flip to high beams they don't come on what could be wrong with it?

start by checking both bulbs to make sure by coincedence the high beam filiment hasnt burnt out. then use a voltmeter to see if you are getting power to the high beam. there have been headlight wire harness issues so you could follow the harness from the lights back. the last thing could be a bad switch
