2000 sunfire light problem

i have a 2000 sunfire that the driving lights come on when you turn the key on than flash a few times and go out and no high beams has anyone else had this problem and no of a fix

sounds like they may be unrelated problems. Did you check if the high beam filament in the bulbs are burnt out?

yes i did i put 2 new bulbs in

do you have the owners manual? either way check if there is a high beam relay in the fuse box

under your battery tray...there is the headlight harness main connection on the inside of the frame rail, check it out, common problem of them corroding from the batt.

i take it when it flashes the service light comes on?

There is a larger bundled wire harness behind the left headlight and behind the windshield washer bottle, open up the harness. Inside you will find numerous original wire splices that are corroded causing that issue. I've fixed a dozen of them already.
