OK, i have a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire that had the all so common 3 rod bearing go out its a 2.4l and we just did a motor swap i also have a grand am with the same motor so i am well aware of how troublesome some of the maintenance task can be, my problem is fist the cooling fan isn't coming on i let it almost over heat and it still don't come on I've check the fuse and the relay and there both working fine and the connector is properly connected to the fan, what might be my problem? next the heat... i still have to recharge ac but i have the condenser unplugged right now cause i don't want it running while it is dry, but my blower just blows cool air when the heat is on, what could cause this not "i didn't check the thermostat or the heater core hose, even though from past experience with the grand am i should of checked it with the motor out just because replacing all that is suck a timely task, but is there any thing else i should check? vacuum lines maybe? and lastly does anyone know were the oil sending unit is located on the 2.4l so besides the cooling fan not coming on, the heater not blowing hot air everything else is good and i replaced... I've just been in such a rush to get this don't i over looked the whole water pump thermostat heater core hose deal and i feel like that's my problem? any comments, helpful tips or input would me much appreciated
thanks,
Blake

1. You could have a bad temperature sensor.
2. You have air in the cooling system.
3. I believe the intake cam tower.

Here's a couple pics of the oil pressure switch (sending unit) on my 98 2.4L, should be the same on a 2000.
