I have a 2000 Sunfire where the metal tubing on the return hose to the resevoir is slowly leaking (pinhole type leak). I got a replacement tube / hose assembly for under $20 new.
But the problem is reaching the 3/4 inch nut on the end of the tube that connects the return tubing to the power steering unit.
How the heck do you get a wrench on that nut? I tried an open end wrench but there is no room to turn it without hitting the transmission. I tried from above - no access. I tried from the wheel wells - no access.
The only thing I can think of is to get a crowsfoot and a long extension to my socket wrench.
If anyone can guide me on what tool can be used and how to access this nut, it would be greatly appreciated. The whole job only involves this nut, a holddown screw and the clamp at the fluid resevoir. Couldn't be any easier - except for the dang 3/4" nut.
Thanks in advance.;)

Take the battery and the air cleaner housing out, you can get to it from under the master cylinder.
